1 in 500 African American children are born with Sickle Cell Disease each year.

Morris was a friend of mine, and the films director, Mike Bekemeyer.  He died of Sickle Cell Desease in 1998.  When Mike asked me to help him make a documentary about Morris 10 years later I jumped at the chance.
