Small Hours is a Mumblecore film.  Spawned by Johnny Rice and myself while working as assistant editors the feature film, Altered.

Johnny Rice had seen Funny Ha-ha while on the selection committee for Florida Film Festival.  I had always loved the post-World-War II Italian Neo-Realist films like Open City.  So we decided to make a film casting real people living a psuedo-alternate reality version of their lives.

Love it or hate.  It will always be a special film for me.  And one of the best summers of my life.
